I read the "http://actionskeptics.blogspot.com/2009/11/blastoff-network-multilevel-marketing.html" review...

I posted the same point over there: what motivates you people to slam BO ? and you seem like you want this to fail......

The big fuss is that BO is doing what all these other sites like Google, etc are doing re: affiliations, etc, but it shares money with its members and you trash it for that? So if someone who doesn't like to take time browsing around the internet for the best deals (or cash back or whatever) wants to use BO because it has made it easy to get cash back and shop, they are a stupid sucker??? I understand your point about the math if the network gets too big- a silly illustration on their part- and the look of the site, but you spent a lot of time ripping up this company so you must have an agenda.

I have found no evidence of BO doing anything wrong to anybody, but time will tell.....

So it looks like Blastoff is fading into the sunset. Scam.com has only one shill left, posts are very infrequent, and right now they're busy discussing silly scams that are years old and totally unrelated to BO.

BO's Alexa rating is 1298, slipping every day. The inside help community is a yawner--I can no longer find an entertaining question to post. (Unless you count posts with links to other money making schemes)

blastoff-sucka gave up ages ago, and chumptrap (aka nottachump) is pretty quiet. I did find a pretty funny review that is worth a read if anyone's still out there:

http://actionskeptics.blogspot.com/2009/11/blastoff-network-multilevel-marketing.html

A lot of pro Pre-Paid Legal/BO bloggers have either taken down their sites or password protected them...???

I hope this blog stays up just in case anyone is still looking into Blastoff--but considering their " viral" spread on the Internet (NOT), that is unlikely.

Doesn't appear you've had any takers to date. Today's Alexa: 1058

Scam.com has only had a few post T-Day posts declaring BO pretty much a fizzle--at the least an embarrassment to those who only joined BO--at worst some $ loss to those who bought into the hype and joined Pre-Paid Legal to cash in:

http://www.scam.com/showpost.php?p=847047&postcount=1181

The head twit, who tweeted on 12-3-09 that BO surpassed $5 M in sales (presumably gross sales, not much for a "viral" shopping portal post Cyber Monday), has no shame and even posted his own personal link on Twitter with an error in the shortened link (gotta remove the end period to get on his BO page) (talk about double dipping!):

http://twitter.com/wrodgers22

One more bit of evidence of the amateur nature of these clowns: my original invite contained a link to click to report as spam. As a BO member, if you did not forewarn your friends that the invite was coming, your invite ability may now be disabled: " My contacts have been disabled, says due to reported abuse!!! The only invites I have sent out are those thru BLASTOFF!!! I want this feature restored immediately! Maybe you guys shouldn't have "report abuse" right there anyway...you are just asking people to report us."

The official response: "The feature is available so that when invites are sent, if a user does not know the person who is sending the user they can let us know that. Users should only be sending invites to people they have relationships with, and if this is not the case, then the user can be seen as spamming. You must receive 3 or more abuse reports in order for your invites to be disabled."

So I guess you were supposed to compose and send your own mass e-mail warning your contacts that an official mass e-mail was coming. Not exactly as they originally marketed the concept... Good golly...

It took a day for someone to notice: "Where is itunes? you advertised that it was available and yet, it isn't amoung the retailers in the mall."

From one master of doublespeak, Jill G. : "Participation in our affiliate program is at the mutual discretion of both Blastoff and the merchant. Consequently, there will be times, due to factors beyond our control, that a merchant decides not to participate. Thankfully, however, these decisions are usually temporary. We are always working to retain and add new merchants and expect our shopping portal to swell over the coming months. Please check back often; we already have over 400 confirmed merchants and are adding more daily."

Today's Alexa ranking: 918

Better keep your day job. To be absolutely correct, your e-mail to me only got as far as my spam folder, so I guess they're only using Jango Mail for themselves.

Meanwhile, no one has posted anything over at scam.com since T-day. (Methinks the mostly Prepaid Legal BO defenders over there have given up.) (sniff)

It appears iTunes is no longer a "top" vendor, or even a middle or bottom vendor for that matter, as their little icon is missing from the mall, as well as from the drop down list. I guess the BO CS reps will wait until someone asks again before informing the (m)asses.

Despite my skepticism of the accuracy of Alexa.com as a valid Internet traffic ranker, BO's US ranking continues to slide in the wrong direction (886 today)

But fear not: according to Jill G. (CSR): "Blastoff does actively recruit stores, though I think there are more stores requesting to be put on Blastoff than we are even recruiting! :)"

If you believe that, you probably believe in the Chupacabra, too.
